Culture Aberdeen is a network of organisations committed to the development of a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable creative sector in Aberdeen. Our 30+ members represent organisations across the arts, cultural and creative industries who contribute to the successful delivery of the city’s cultural strategy, which was developed collaboratively by members.

Culture Aberdeen Coordinator (Freelance)
Culture Aberdeen seeks a coordinator to support the work of the network of members, administering meetings, promoting members’ work, and gathering crucial advocacy data.
An opportunity has arisen for a freelance coordinator to support the work of the Culture Aberdeen network, helping to administer meetings of the membership and executive, promoting the work of the sector via website and social media, and helping gather crucial data for monitoring and advocacy work.
Reports to: Co-chairs, Culture Aberdeen. Contract and payment managed by Citymoves Dance Agency on behalf of Culture Aberdeen.
Terms: Freelance. Initial contract until the end of March 2025 with the possibility of extending if funding allows.
Hours: 18.5hrs per week
Fee: £7,052
Hours of work: Determined by the freelancer based on the needs of the network, but to include attendance at members’ meeting, executive meetings and other events as agreed. Fee based on approximately 18.5 hours per week over 26 weeks.
Location: Determined by the freelancer. A desk space will be available within the offices of Citymoves or other member organisations throughout the contract.

Primary Purpose: The Culture Aberdeen Coordinator will provide administrative support to the membership and help promote the activities of the sector, working closely with the Culture Aberdeen Project Manager, co-chairs and executive committee.
Culture Aberdeen Strategic Consultant (Freelance)
Culture Aberdeen seeks a Strategic Consultant to work with us to determine the best model to ensure a sustainable future for the organisation to best support the city’s fantastic cultural sector.
Culture Aberdeen has been awarded a grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to provide resource to research and scope the most appropriate organisational structure and identify potential fundraising opportunities for Culture Aberdeen. As part of this project, the Strategic Consultant will also scope out a process for the refresh of the city’s cultural strategy. We seek to appoint an experienced and motivated Consultant to undertake this work and to help ensure a sustainable future for Culture Aberdeen.
Reports to: Co-chairs, Culture Aberdeen. Contract and payment managed by Citymoves Dance Agency on behalf of Culture Aberdeen.
Terms: Freelance. Contract from October 2024 to March 2025 based on approximately 3 days per week.
Fee: £13,012
Hours of work: Determined by the freelancer based on the needs of the contract. Fee based on 3 days per week, 8 hrs per day, over 26 weeks.
Location: Determined by the freelancer. A desk space will be available within the offices of Citymoves and other member organisations throughout the contract.

Primary Purpose: To provide answers to the questions: What is the best future for Culture Aberdeen? What is the model which will best allow the organisation to support its members and deliver the city’s cultural strategy? What are the potential funding routes to establish a sustainable organisation to champion culture in the city?
The Strategic Consultant will undertake a period of research to identify and then help implement the most appropriate organisational structure for Culture Aberdeen to ensure a sustainable future. The Strategic Consultant will map out a process for refreshing and relaunching the city’s cultural strategy. The Strategic Consultant will identify potential funding pathways to secure the necessary resources for Culture Aberdeen’s successful delivery.
