Culture North East: Board Recruitment

Culture North East (CNE) expands the remit of the former Culture Aberdeen, a partnership of membership organisations in the city since 2018. We are now expanding our emphasis on regional collaboration and interconnectedness within the broader North East of Scotland. This strategic move reflects our ambition for the wider cultural landscape and ecology beyond the city limits, aligning with broader funding initiatives and leveraging regional opportunities.

CNE is a new company limited by guarantee, operating as a social enterprise, dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the North East of Scotland. We recognise culture’s vital role in community well-being, economic development, and social cohesion. CNE aims to amplify this creative energy, fostering collaboration, promoting impacts, and creating opportunities within the arts and heritage sectors across the Aberdeen region.

Our Mission: To amplify creative energy in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.

Our Vision: For North East Scotland to be a region where:

  • Creative expression flourishes.
  • The region is a creative destination.
  • Culture is integral to regional life.
  • Heritage and identity are celebrated.
  • The cultural sector is strong and collaborative.
  • Culture is recognised for its economic contribution

Our core objectives include:

  1. Measure and Communicate Regional Cultural Impact: Developing and implementing a robust reporting framework to assess and quantify cultural impact.
  2. Expand and Enhance Member Opportunities: Creating and providing a diverse range of valuable opportunities for CNE members.
  3. Amplify the Profile of North East Culture and Creativity Nationally: Actively promoting the unique cultural and creative energy in the North East of Scotland on a national stage.

We are seeking passionate and experienced board members to help embed this new organisation across the North East of Scotland to support our members. You can download the Culture North East_ Board Recruitment Pack or email [email protected] for more information.
